Every year I watch with fascination as the BBC show us round the Show Gardens and Pavilion at The Chelsea Flower Show.
Sadly, I’ve never yet found the time to go and visit the show myself. There has always been a wedding or some other flower related reason I haven’t been able to go. This year is no different, especially now that I am in the studio full time (and not to mention organising seven weddings in the next week!!), but I still watch with wonder as we are shown these stunning displays.
The Chelsea Flower Show isn’t just about the gardens and cut displays, of course. Although we aren’t shown a lot of it on the TV, the Chelsea Flower Pavilion is also home to the prestigious florist competition – Chelsea Florist & Young Florist of the year.
This year, florist finalists have been asked to create a kite design, and what a treat they are to see! I have included a few of my favourites below …

You can see the rest of the amazing designs on the BFA website here .. BFA – Chelsea results
Chelsea is definitely a great thing to follow. It fills you with inspiration both for your garden and, for me for my work.
The show is also a shining example that floristry is so much more than it looks!! If you are looking for a career change, or have know a young person who is creative but has no idea how to use it, then maybe floristry is the way forward!
Back soon!
