Keelie & Mike booked their Christmas wedding with Hannah Burnett Florist over 18 months ago!
It seemed like an age away, but the date is soon coming around, and now we are little over a month away from their gorgeous wedding on December 28th.
I caught up with them to ask about how their planning has gone… keelie-mike

So! Not long to go now until the ‘Big Day’! How are you feeling?
Feeling quite busy, there is still a lot of things to do! We have been planning our wedding for almost 2 years now, and once we got all the main things booked, we had put aside everything else until nearer the time. Little did we know we would be moving house 3 months before the wedding 90 miles away so all of the wedding things we had put aside for a later date we are finding it difficult to find time in-between work and renovating our house.
Why did you choose December and what made you fall in love with The Horn of Plenty?
Mike and I love everything about winter and especially Christmas. Although we did not want to have a Christmas themed wedding, we loved that we could have hearty food, mulled wine and mince pies on the day! We hadn’t really decided on a particular time to get married, we happened to be looking at wedding venues just after Christmas and the weather was perfect, really frosty so the grass was all crunchy but the sky was cloud free and the sun was beaming! I guess we thought we couldn’t guarantee good weather in the summer so may as well pick a time of the year where we could also have great weather, or even snow!
We fell in love with The Horn of Plenty as soon as we stepped inside. It was exactly what we were looking for from a venue, beautiful views, gorgeous surroundings and as we walked in the log fires were lit and it was so cosy. We are both foodies and they have an amazing chef Scott who was really accommodating and let us pick our own menu from scratch which was appealing, even down to the demitasse and petit fours we got to choose. Our wedding planner Emma was so efficient and she really made us feel like we were bespoke, and not just another couple planning their wedding.
What has been your favourite part of the wedding planning?
I would say the most favourite part of wedding planning was picking the wedding venue. You get to look around beautiful venues and only imagine how great your day is going to be.
Is there anything you’ve found more difficult/struggled to plan?
We don’t have a first dance song! That is the only thing we have struggled with. We don’t have a memorable song and we have such different taste in music so trying to find a song that we both like with the right lyrics and rhythm is seeming to be a task.
Are there any tips you could give to Brides just starting out with their big day plans?
If we could start planning again, we both said we would have tied the knot a bit quicker. I think 2 years has been a long time of planning and I just can’t wait for the big day now.

I’m really loving this new little feature, it gives couples the opportunity to share their experiences and any fab tips!
Looking forward to sharing this gorgeous winter wedding with you all in late December, but for now, I’m off to catch up on wedding emails! Massive thanks to Keelie for this perfect blog,
